Made from the Nebbiolo grape, it possesses brisk acidity, somewhat fierce tannins, and plenty of body. Scents of dried flowers, plum and cherry fruit, liquorice and a classic note of tar adorn the nose. The flavours are similar, with high raspy acidity, very chewy firm tannins and a long finish that has a bite. What you need to do is enjoy some great savoury food, like cured meat, aged parmigiano reggiano, osso buco, or risotto with mushrooms. This wine is transformed by food!
