Description:

The Paolo Scavino estate, established in 1921 by Lorenzo Scavino and his son Paolo, is a family-run winery located in Castiglione Falletto in the heart of Barolo. Now managed by Enrico Scavino and his daughters Enrica and Elisa, the estate has earned a stellar reputation for crafting expressive Barolos that reflect the nuances of their vineyard sites. The Monvigliero cru, located in the northern commune of Verduno, is renowned for producing elegant, perfumed Barolos and is widely considered one of the top crus of the region.

This 2019 vintage offers a graceful and complex expression of Nebbiolo. In the glass, it reveals a bright garnet hue with luminous clarity. The nose is captivating, with aromas of rose petals, red berries, sweet spices, and a touch of menthol. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with refined tannins and a layered structure, unfolding notes of cherry, raspberry, and licorice alongside hints of tobacco and crushed herbs. The wine exhibits remarkable balance, a silky texture, and a persistent, mineral-laced finish. Crafted entirely from 100% Nebbiolo, this Barolo is best enjoyed from 2025 through 2040.
