Tasting Notes

This special edition single malt Scotch whisky was initially matured in traditional American oak casks before a finishing period in ex-Pineau des Charentes wine casks from France. The result is a vibrant amber spirit with copper highlights. The nose offers lush aromas of candied citrus peel, spiced orchard fruits, and floral honey, underscored by coastal salinity. On the palate, it reveals layers of sultanas, baked apple, white grapes, and nutmeg, framed by the signature briny undertone Old Pulteney is known for. Medium-bodied with a rich, waxy mouthfeel, the finish is long, warming, and elegantly sweet, with lingering notes of dried fruits and a hint of maritime salt.
