Description:
Leclerc Briant Brut Réserve is a distinguished Champagne that embodies the house's commitment to organic and biodynamic viticulture. Established in 1955 by Bertrand Leclerc and Jacqueline Briant, the estate was an early adopter of organic practices in the 1960s and pioneered single-vineyard Champagnes in the 1970s. By the late 1980s, under the guidance of their son Pascal, the house integrated biodynamic principles, achieving Demeter certification in 2003. Today, enologist Hervé Jestin continues this legacy, overseeing approximately 30 hectares of estate vineyards and an additional 20 hectares of organically farmed contract fruit.
Wine Description
The Brut Réserve is composed of 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Pinot Meunier, and 20% Chardonnay, sourced from Premier and Grand Cru villages. This blend offers a bright straw hue and presents fresh aromas of seashell and pear. On the palate, it delivers notes of lemon, red and green apple, and lightly toasted brioche, supported by a vibrant, stony minerality and a creamy lees texture. The finish is clean and chalky, with hints of almond and umami.
